On Saturday, September 6, 2025, 50 Years of Vietnamese in America brings a full evening of storytelling, music, and community to Cincinnati, celebrating both cultural roots and future dreams. The night kicks off at 6pm at 13 Knives with the Lang Thang Coffee Kickstarter Launch, unveiling a new documentary about brothers Bao and Duy Nguyen and their journey from Midwest kids to restaurateurs and coffee entrepreneurs. At 7:30pm, head to Kenwood Theatre for the premiere of New Wave, Elizabeth Ai’s documentary exploring the rebellious 1980s Vietnamese American new wave scene. The celebration continues back at 13 Knives from 9pm to midnight with a high-energy New Wave After-Party, where DJs spin classic synth-pop and punk tracks in a night of film, music, and community connection.
