A monthly, in-person language exchange bringing together students, professionals, and Cincinnati’s international community.

Come practice languages in a relaxed, social setting. This is not a class or lecture. It’s casual conversation, meeting new people, and jumping between languages as you like.

How it works:

Free, open, drop-in social event
No speakers, no presentations, no programming
Attendees wear flag stickers to show languages they speak or want to practice
Move freely, join conversations, meet new people
All language levels welcome, from beginner to fluent
LingoMix Cincy is a lively, welcoming space where you can talk to anyone, practice naturally, and leave having met people you wouldn’t otherwise cross paths with.

18+ event. Open to students and non-students alike.
Respectful, inclusive, and friendly atmosphere expected.

LingoMix Cincy - Multilingual Social Mixer (Launch Night)

LingoMix is a free, multilingual social mixer where people meet, practice languages, and connect across cultures in a relaxed setting.

Join us for a Tea Ceremony hosted by Yuuka Ishiu! Hosted at Redtree OTR (229 W 12th St Cincinnati) as a part of “This Way to Home” art show celebrating Cincinnati AAPI artists.

Tea Ceremony: The Japanese tea ceremony is a cultural activity involving the ceremonial preparation and presentation of matcha and sweets.

The workshop includes an explanation and demonstration of the tea ceremony. Participants will then make and taste their own matcha drink and accompanying Japanese sweets called nerikiri in cherry blossom and chrysanthemum flavors. Nerikiri is made from a malleable dough of white bean paste, sugar, and gyuhi (soft rice flour dough). Matcha tea bowls, made locally by Charity Rust-Jordan, and extra sweets can be taken home.

Thursday April 23 from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Cost:
$100 per ticket (cost of ticket includes tea bowl locally made by Charity Rust-Jordan). Tickets are nonrefundable.

Cincinnati's Asian Food Fest will return to Court Street Plaza on April 25-26 for its 15th year!

The event, which the Cincinnati Regional Chamber produces in partnership with Asianati, attracted an estimated more than 125,000 attendees over two days in 2025. Asian Food Fest continues to be one of the Cincinnati region’s fastest-growing events.

Asian Food Fest 2026

Cincinnati's Asian Food Fest will return to Court Street Plaza on April 25-26 for its 15th year!

Jay B. Kalagayan is the owner and writer of Cincinnati-based Creative Mussel Productions, an independent graphic novel publisher dedicated to supporting diverse artists. Spanning sci-fi thrillers, haunting folklore, and historical non-fiction, the company spotlights underrepresented narratives.

Kalagayan will speak on the origins of the company as well as his work as a writer which includes his flagship series, MeSseD Comics, that follows Lilah, a sewer worker navigating the complex underworld of Cincinnati’s infrastructure and Filipino Assassin, which chronicling the life of local boxer and WWII soldier Vincent Manago Hambright. His latest graphic novel, St. Malo, explores the 18th-century Filipino settlement in Louisiana.
