Venue: Ault Park

Host:

Each year in the spring, Tokiko Freeman, a longtime friend of the JASGC, leads a group of volunteers in a project to maintain a special grove of Japanese Sakura trees in Ault Park. The project is supported by the Cincinnati Park Board, which supplies mulch and rakes, and the Japan America Society of Greater Cincinnati.
The annual tree care event helps ensure that the paths around the trees are safe and dry so that the grove can be enjoyed by spring picnickers and others who wish to visit the grove when the trees are in bloom.
(We are currently checking with the Park Board to find out whether pre-registration is requested. Please stay tuned for more information.)

Suggestions:

  • Wear comfortable clothes that are ok to get dirty
  • Wear boots or other shoes that can get wet
  • Bring garden gloves, and bottled water (if you like)
This is a family-friendly activity, and all are welcome.
